As Hurricane Matthew punishes the Florida coast this morning, those in Haiti are reeling from the devastating storm.
The death toll is quickly rising, with Friday’s morning number reaching 478 confirmed dead, according to Reuters. That’s up from 271 overnight, as more information is collected by local officials.
Over 60,000 are currently still in shelters, with much of the country in ruin.
