This melted our hearts so we are sharing with you.
At the tender age of nine, high school quarterback Ben Moser made a promise to attend prom with his friend Mary Lapkowicz.
As a true gentleman, this 17-year-old stood by his word to take Lapkowicz, a young woman effected by Down Syndrome, a condition that causes impairments in cognitive ability and physical growth, Medical News Today said to the dance.
According to their fourth grade teacher, Tracey Spogli who spoke with Penn Live, “He watched over her constantly.”
Adding that, “If she was looking like she wasn’t having fun, he would go over and talk to her. He would pull her in to what ever activity they were doing. He just always watched out for her.”
The reasoning for it? Well, Ben said, “I thought Mary was really cool.”
“She was sweet and easy to get along with,” he said of the lady he met in second grade.
And Mary stated,”he was sweet and he was nice.”
We are so excited that these two made an excellent life long friendship.
But on another note, this story went viral last year. Of course, we are showcasing the news now because of its greatness. Don’t you agree?!
