The devastation from Hurricane Matthew was especially pronounced in Haiti, where power is still out, entire towns have been wiped off the map, and the death toll has risen to over 1,000 according to Reuters.
There are reports of mass graves to lay the fallen to rest.
The U.N. has called for a “massive response” as aid workers are experiencing difficulties getting supplies to isolated people.
But in spite of all this, Haitians are showing incredible faith in the midst of tragedy. Even with most church buildings destroyed or partially destroyed, hundreds gathered to worship and praise God.
It would be completely natural to ask God “why?” and most people do – this is a great example to trust and rely on Him even in the darkest hour.
