Actor and feature film producer Kirk Cameron wants to offer “hope and encouragement” to Christians who are deeply concerned about the decline of American culture.
Cameron, who premiered his “Revive Us” event last Tuesday in theaters across America, is slated to host an encore presentation tonight (Oct. 24) in theaters nationwide. He’s hoping the event, which he’s describing as a “family gathering,” will help people learn to transform the nation “from the inside out, and the bottom all the way up to the top.”
The actor and producer described the impetus for “Revive Us” in an interview with “The Church Boys” podcast on Friday.
“‘Revive Us’ was birthed out of the desire that I have to offer hope and encouragement and a fresh perspective for Christians,” Cameron said. “Moms are saying how deeply concerned they are for their children and their future; dads know that the nation’s broken, and they wonder if we’ve reached the last days of America as a great nation.”
While Cameron said we’re certainly “on the edge of the cliff,” he believes there’s hope and he’s hoping to rally his fellow Christians to pray that the country experiences a “Red Sea moment.”
“I believe there’s never been a more exciting time to be a Christian in America,” Cameron continued. “This could be our finest hour, because its the point in the story, whether its in scriptures or in a great film … It’s when all hope appears to be lost that God steps in and parts the waters.”
Listen to Cameron discuss these issues at the 34:30 mark below:
Cameron is urging Christians to come together for the encore “Revive Us” event on Monday evening — one that will feature Eric Metaxas, Dr. Ben Carson and other well-known speakers and performers.
“If we don’t get on the ball now and revive the soul of the church — and that is the power of God working through the hearts of people everywhere — the infection will get to the heart and completely stop it,” he told “The Church Boys.”
Cameron continued, “We can’t wait any longer. We’ve waited until 11:59 p.m. and on November 8, a great determination will be made about the kind of nation we’ll be living in.”

The producer said many people are focusing on personalities and specific events in American politics rather than looking at the broader, 30,000-foot view to see that “America is about to flatline at the heart and soul level.”
