A young toddler felt a calling to speak to an elderly man in a local grocery store. The new friendship that has budded out of it, has pulled at the heart strings of all who know them.
4-year-old Norah spotted Dan traveling down a shopping aisle the day of her birthday, just 24-hours after telling her mom, Tara Wood, that she personally felt a synergy between herself and the elderly.
Saying, “I like old peoples the best ‘cos they walk slow like I walk slow and they has soft skin like I has soft skin. They all gonna die soon so I’m gonna love ‘em all up before they is died.”
Now, the chance meeting between Nora and Dan, has left a series of positive memories.
Including one of the first, when Norah shouted out to Dan in the grocery store and then followed up minutes later after Dan had left with a request for a photograph.
Wood searched and located Dan down a different aisle and asked for a photograph. After the snap, a conversation flowed between the two, as if they were old friends and according to the Today.com story posted by the mom herself, it was nothing short of a tearjerker.
After their first meeting, they continued with another after Wood posted on social media the story of her daughter’s miraculous and moving moment with Dan in the store, that caused all the shoppers to watch.
In the follow up house visit between the two, Dan spoke about Norah’s impact on his life. Dan told Wood, “Norah has healed me.”
Prior to meeting the young woman, he was not able to sleep all night, since his wife passed away in March.
After the three hour fist visit, Wood promised to take her daughter by Dan’s tidy and sweet home once a week for at least 15 minutes, something that both Norah and Dan appreciate.
He even picked the toddler a rose from his garden before it was time for the little girl to go home.
How sweet!
