One military family went viral on Veteran’s Day by posting an inspiring photo that encapsulates their spirit, strength and family bond.
In the photo, Navy sailor Lamarr Hall is planking with his wife and fellow sailor, LeShaina, lying on his back while holding their 1-year-old daughter, Mia – all while wearing matching Navy blue uniforms.
The photo was taken in March, right before Lamarr was set to leave on his third deployment.
“I like to take a lot of photos and make things with the photos for keepsakes when he and I deploy,” the 23-year-old said to ABC News, adding that the photo captured the “strength” of their family.
“We go through a lot of things with being apart, but it shows how strong we are as a unit,” she said. “Even when we’re together or when we’re apart, it doesn’t change no matter what.”
Despite the obstacles their jobs present, LeShaina said it doesn’t change the couple’s desire to serve their country because their relationship can withstand the time apart.
“When you understand what the other person is going through, you know what it’s like to be gone,” she said. “You just want someone to be waiting for you. It’s so much better.”
Since Lamarr left for deployment in May, she has “very rarely” spoken to him because he is underwater, LeShaina said. If she could speak to him, she would tell him that she misses him and that she’s ready for him to come home.
