As many people have taken to the streets to protest the election of President-elect Donald J. Trump, Oprah Winfrey is among the group that has openly discussed giving Trump a chance.
Even though the magazine mogul was all in with Hillary, she has put “hope” in the prospect of a Trump presidency after the republican winner’s body language showcased “humbleness” in response to the victory announcement that came his way on Nov. 8.
Winfrey told Associated Press that, “I could sense, maybe I’m wrong, but I could sense from Donald Trump’s body language even when he came out for the acceptance speech. That brother has been humbled by this whole thing. I think it’s a humbling process that now you literally have the weight of the world on your shoulders.”
48 hours after the election results poured in and the sighting of American’s division came into view, Oprah took to social media to say, “Everybody take a deep breath!” and used the hashtag #HopeLives.

In October, Oprah opened up about her political position this election season while on the T.D. Jakes show.
Saying, “The reason why I haven’t been vocal is that ‘I’m with her’ I didn’t know what to say that could actually really pierce through all the noise and the chaos and the disgusting vitriol going on and actually be heard.”
