‘Thinking Out Loud’ singer Ed Sheeran traveled to a British hospital earlier this month to perform at a sick little girl’s bedside.
The lyricist sang a series of his top hits, making 9-year-old Melody Driscall feel super special.
To attract the attention of Sheeran, family of Driscall started a campaign about last year on Facebook.
The social media page titled “Melody in Mind” has over 4,000 likes and when the “like” of the Croydon police came, the forces support made a difference.
The team helped get the singer to come visit the British children’s hospital and see little girl, an experience that made the child feel “over the moon” and lasted about 90 minutes.
According to the You Tube video posted earlier this month on the visit by the singer, Driscall suffers from a variety of health problems like Rett Syndrome, a rare genetic mutation that affects brain development and mostly effects little girls.
Sheeran is a huge star, but he is also dedicated to helping others. His humanitarian work includes his role as an East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) Ambassador.
In his official capacity, he donates his possessions, performs at fundraisers and make hospital visits like this one in the UK.
In response to the world’s wonderful and supportive reaction to the young girl having her dream meeting, the family took to Twitter to express their gratitude:
