As controversy rages over a BuzzFeed article published about “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines — and, in particular, their church’s biblical views on homosexuality — it appears Chip isn’t letting the media chaos get the best of him.
While the HGTV reality star didn’t address the controversy head-on, he sent a series of tweets Thursday morning that seemed to hint at how he’s coping amid the consternation.

Chip’s first message was scripture from 1 Corinthians 16:13-14. It read, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. DO EVERYTHING IN LOVE.” He then followed that up with a number of tweets making it seem as though the situation isn’t really rocking or disturbing the Gaines family home all that much.
“At least at that moment, at my house, all is right with the world!” he said. “(You) know…even as all hell ‘appears’ to be breaking loose, all I have to do is look at my 4 precious babies sleeping, or kiss Jo good morning.”

And Chip wasn’t done there.
While it’s unclear whether his subsequent tweets were also definitively intended to be responses to the current controversy, he proceeded to share a tweet from Pope Francis that read, “Today we remember Blessed Charles de Foucauld who said, faith calls us to see Jesus in every human being.”
And on a comical note, Chip concluded the message stream by sharing a photo of his farm goats, saying he counseled with them and they seem to think “everything is going to be okay.”

As Faithwire previously reported, a curious BuzzFeed article published this week about the Gainses is being lambasted by critics who are boisterously dismissing it as “dangerous,” a “hit job” and an attempt to “destroy” the couple.
The original article, titled, “Chip And Joanna Gaines’ Church Is Firmly Against Same-Sex Marriage,” opens by dissecting the success of the HGTV show as well as the couple’s other endeavors, before noting that the Gaineses are “devout Christians.”
Then, the article abruptly starts moving into contentious LGBTQ territory, questioning the couple’s views on homosexuality, among other related sentiments. Read our original report here.
As of Thursday morning, Joanna Gaines had not yet tweeted about the controversy.
