Well-known a cappella artist Peter Hollens is back with yet another music video for one of the revered Christmas songs off of his new album titled, “A Hollens Family Christmas.”
This time, Hollens seamlessly tackles “Carol of the Bells” — a stunning accomplishment, considering the song’s typically robust musical arrangement, and the singer’s decision to simply use voices and no instrumentals to accomplish the task.

The release of the clip follows Hollens’ recent music videos for songs like “Amazing Grace,” and “What Child Is This,” among other well-known Christmas hits. Watch the video for “Carol of the Bells” below:
Additional songs included on “A Hollens Family Christmas” are: “Little Drummer Boy” and “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” among others.
Hollens told Faithwire this week that the the album was essentially “entirely crowdsourced,” as fans have made requests over the past few years for the songs they wanted him to include.
“It is kind of a passion project,” Hollens said, noting that some of the songs were requested thousands of times. “I’ve been asking people what they wanted me to do for over three years now … it came together really organically.”
Hollens also spoke about why he tends to like performing Christmas music, saying these traditional songs help “tap into the magic” people traditionally felt during the holiday season when they were young “before the realities of the world set in.”
“I hope people take away a little piece of the magic of this season that (they) had when you were young,” he said.
