Many Syrians are still stuck in the middle eastern city of Aleppo trying to figure out ways to escape the regime of President Bashar al-Assad who claims he is now in full control of the area that was once held mostly by opposition forces.
“The Syrian regime says it has taken full control of Aleppo, marking a major turning point in the nation’s five-year civil war.”
“Syrian government forces and their allies are now in control of eastern Aleppo, ending more than four years of rebel rule in the area” CNN reported Thursday afternoon.
This means the government has made substantial gains in the bloody battle that has taken almost a half million lives and left millions displaced.
As humanitarians try to reach people in Aleppo on Wednesday their efforts are being hampered due to a heavy snowfall. An experience that has added more distress to those still hoping to get out.
