The Christian walk is filled with peaks and valleys – but what happens when you feel trapped in the valley? In a powerful one minute post, Jackie Hill Perry shared with the world why so many Christians feel stuck in their walk with God.
At times many Christians have wondered why their progress seems slower then their neighbor, friend or even family member, especially when they are doing all the “right things” like praying, going to church and reading the Bible.
The truth is, “I think the stumbling block to a lot of people’s maturity is the idea that sanctification is just going to magically happen isolated from any effort or discipline,” Perry said while pointing out hat when the Bible says, “workout your salvation with fear and trembling that’s not theoretical. Literally work out what God has started within you. What God has begun within you because of the gospel.”
Adding that, “God is not the one to blame for your immaturity” and that to elevate yourself you need to continue to lean into the word of God.
Perry’s Facebook post has received over 100,000 views and on Instagram it received over 13,000.
