It was one thing for these two midwestern brothers to share a wedding anniversary, because they planned the joint ceremony. But how they became dads last week pretty much defied all the odds.
Jose and Ivan Favela of Illinois became dads on the same exact, which was a complete surprise because their wives were due on separate days.
On Jan. 15 both men found themselves at Rush-Copley Medical Center in neighboring rooms.
Now the Illinois based brothers share this life experience.
“He said, ‘You’re going to be an uncle,'” Jose Favela told a local ABC station. “I was telling him, ‘You’re going to be an uncle too.'”
Ivan’s wife, Sarai Duran said, “I’m happy for them, and us too.”
New dad, Ivan Favela stated that, “He’s just incredible.”
“He’s going to be my little engine to keep it going in life.”
The wife of Jose, Elvia Chaidez said to the local station that,”I guess we just have to enjoy it. A big party all the time.”
The babies arrived just hours apart.
This is the firstborn child for each brother.
