As people across the world mourn the loss of life associated with the avalanche that struck a central Italian hotel spot, many residents like Guy Sottile are seeing how God is always with us – especially in difficult times.
In the face of tragedy, Dr. Sottile of Italy for Christ reminds national citizens and the world at large the importance of fixating your eyes on God through every struggle.
The deadly avalanche has reportedly caused the death of 29 people and forced Italian officials to look at how this situation was handled as the search for live bodies from the freak natural disaster comes to a close.
Among the survivors and rescuers there have been a slew of miraculous stories of survival.

Including one from forty-eight hours ago when rescuers found three puppies still alive after being buried underneath piles of snow from the avalanche for six days.

However that is no longer considered to be the case. The reason behind it can all be linked back to last Wednesday, when the hotel’s manager made a plea for help but it was simple ignored, Sottile said to Faithwire and local media has also reported.
“When the snow was falling and disaster was looming, the hotel called for help in the morning but no one took them seriously.”

Now Sottile explained that residents in central Italy are “very upset” including himself, who resides just two hours away from the hotel.
The man of faith added that the area had been receiving unprecedented snow storms for the last few days and strong earthquakes prior to the avalanche.
“The victims are the people who could not leave the hotel due to 9 feet tall walls of snow and ice.”
“(Unfortunately) the people at the hotel were trapped and were waiting in vain for help. This is very upsetting and is putting the local authorities in a crisis.”
So how are natives of the area getting through it? According to Sottile it is through faith. Even though this happened, “I do not have fear but excitement” when it comes to the wellbeing of the country.
“You see the only way to alleviate fear is turning on faith! All this ordeal has opened many hearts to the Lord and uncovered what sin can bring to an entire nation,” a reference made to previous natural disasters that have struck down homes and broken communities within the country.
