“It’s a good day. And it is the best day I’ve ever seen for the March For Life in more ways than one,” Pence began. “I’m deeply humbled to stand before you today. Deeply humbled to be the first Vice President of the United States to ever have the privilege to attend this historic day.”
The crowd erupted in thunderous applause.
Pence proclaimed that “life is winning” in America, and cited congressional gains among the pro-life movement as evidence of a cultural shift.
Pence said President Trump personally asked him to speak at the event, in which the Vice President said this moment must be met with humility and that the movement must embrace all, care for all, and appreciate the dignity and worth of every person.
“Along with you we will not grow weary, we will not rest until we restore a culture of life in America for ourselves and our posterity.”
