Popular author and radio host Eric Metaxas passionately defended the rights of the unborn during a recent interview with Faithwire, proclaiming that he believes it’s “a new day in America” when it comes to the pro-life paradigm.
“Science is on the side of the baby in the womb,” he said after addressing a massive crowd at the March for Life in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 27. “The more time passes, the more we know this is a human being … young people, they know this is a person, and so the debate is changing.”
Metaxas said that, as people come to understand what abortion truly is, he believes they can’t simply pretend not to know what is truly unfolding. He added, “It’s the civil rights, human rights issue of our time.”

Metaxas also said that “most european nations do not allow abortion after 12 weeks,” calling the fact that there are places in the U.S. that place absolutely no restrictions on the procedure both “insane” and “barbaric.”
