Kutcher is the co-founder of Thorn, a non-profit focused on using technology to track down victim’s of sexual assault. The actor has shared with the public that this has become his “day job” but not everyone is happy about it. Internet trolls have used their devices to write mean words and lash out.
Every day we are thankful for the community of #DigitalDefenders that makes this work possible. https://t.co/xyB0FVI9p8

However Kutcher has had the last laugh. The man best known for his television roles like “Two and a Half Men” has just continued to prove them wrong through his strategy to “disrupt” the platforms of sexual predators. So his gut-wrenching 15 minutes speech on the senate floor proved that the actor can take down the multi-billion dollar criminal industry of sex trafficking.
The “No Strings Attached” actor started his speech simply by explaining that the unidentified victim’s of modern day slavery are being denied the pursuit of happiness, a constitutional right all people should be able to obtain including children.
Then the “Guess Who” film star took his passionate plea several steps further by citing personal examples of what he’s seen and heard while advocating for young girls and boys in the United States and abroad.
The statistics around sex trafficking and exploitation are uncomfortable and somewhat frightening but like Kutcher’s message the evidence stresses the heavy gravity of the situation.
According to a 2011 fact sheet from Equality Now: about 2 million children are exploited every year in the global commercial sex trade. Almost 6 in 10 identified trafficking survivors were trafficked for sexual exploitation.
And many of these young children are actually being hidden in plain sight while being held captive by their “owners” and “users.”
We need to pray. So much evil in the world. Thank you to Ashton Kutcher for standing against child sex… https://t.co/wvcMtBDAUI

In a series of personal examples provided by Kutcher during the last several minutes, he touches on one that hits a raw nerve for himself and the crowd by bringing up a young 2-year-old that had been sexually assaulted multiple times by various man. The hardest thing is, the little girl is the same age as Kutcher’s daughter Wyatt.
The actor said in his own words, “I’ve seen video content of a child that’s the same age as mine being raped by an American man who was a sex tourist in Cambodia, and this child was so conditioned by her environment that she thought she was engaging in play.”

Also “I’ve been on the other end of a phone call from my team, asking for my help because we had received a call from the Department of Homeland Security, telling us that a 7-year-old girl was being sexually abused and that content was being spread around the dark web and she had been being abused and they’d watched her for three years, and they could not find the perpetrator, asking us for help.”
All the victim’s of the childhood sex trade need help through prayer, advocacy and donations.
