Chance The Rapper is now making headlines for something other than music, after pledging $1 million in donations to Chicago public schools (CPS).
This past Monday, the Grammy award winner said in a statement during a presser held at Westcott Elementary school, that his donation will go to support after-school and enrichment programs across CPS.
A bold and impressive move made days after the Christian rapper met with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner about the state of public education and other “important issues affecting” the city.
But Chance shared shortly after the forty minute conversation with Gov. Rauner, that he was left with “vague” answers to important questions.

The one million dollars the rapper committed will be dispersed in stages and will come from the Christian artist’s spring tour ticket sales.

CPS filed a civil rights lawsuit against Gov. Rauner and earlier this month both legal parties made their first appearance in court.
