A couple from Texas always felt like they were a perfect match for one another in an indescribable way. And after seven years of marriage the duo got a divine confirmation on the reason why.
Dave and Elizabeth Wright were going about their day this past summer, when out of nowhere Dave collapsed and needed emergency medical assistance. After being rushed to the hospital he regained consciousness and was told that he was in the final stages of kidney disease and needed dialysis several times a week until a kidney donor was located.

Of course the couple was shocked by Dave’s health and weren’t sure who could be a viable match. As they thought about it, Dave went through his regular dialysis treatment. But one day shortly after he started, his wife explained how tired he looked and how “he didn’t have the energy to do anything.”
So she said, “let me try.”
As Dave recalls the kidney donation story, he said, “She brought it up and I was like, wow.”
“It seems so incredible.”
Once Elizabeth got tested to see if she was a possible match, the family didn’t have to wait long to hear the answer. And to the surprise of the husband and wife, doctors said, Elizabeth was a nearly perfect match.
After the big news, Elizabeth said,”A lot of people think you have to be relatives to donate but we are just two people in love and we are a match.”
The kidney surgeries will happen next month and until they do, the family continues to lean into their faith. Elizabeth saying, “(God) never closes one door without opening another one.”
And explaining that, ” (the whole ordeal has) brought us closer together as a family and it’s taught us to not take each day for granted.”
