Firefighters are a special breed of people, no matter what corner of the globe they are from.
A South Korean firefighter who just started his job in the capital city of Seoul is being dubbed a hero across the world for using his body to save the lives of multiple people stuck in a burning building.

Two months into Choi Kil-soo’s new job, he went into the third-floor of an apartment building and used his back to stop a fire from coming in the door, so the people stuck inside the building could escape out the window.
After five other rescuee’s escaped from Choi’s efforts, he jumped out the window to save himself. But soon after, he quickly realized that he had hurt his hip pretty badly from his harsh landing.
But to him it didn’t matter because, “(his) mission is to save people.”
Choi Kil-soo adding from his hospital bed in South Korea that, “I acted out of instinct rather than out of knowledge, because I had to carry out my mission.”

Choi Kil-soo’s recovery time from his injury has not been released to the public, but the young man did report that he has to postpone his wedding until he’s healed.
