Green Bay Packers tight end Martellus Bennett made a very public commitment on Saturday to donate commission from the sale of his jerseys to after school programs, taking to Twitter to make the big announcement.
“I’m no longer hiding my awesomeness. I encourage you all to no longer hide yours either,” Bennett tweeted on Saturday afternoon. “The world just gotta deal with us awesome folk.”

Then, about an hour later, he revealed his plans to donate his jersey earnings to charity. At first, he shared an image of his Packers jersey, then said he will be putting the money he earns toward after school programs for youths.
“I’ll take all the money from my @packers jersey sales and put it towards the after school programs that I’m working to put together,” Bennett wrote.

Bennett said he was inspired to act after his brother, Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett, donated $10,000 to an after scool program in Houston, Texas.
Martellus Bennett signed with the Packers on March 10 after a Super Bowl-winning season with the Patriots; he previously let his fans choose his jersey number, WDJT-TV reported.
