A photo of a little girl praying with police officers is going viral, and the inspirational scene is lifting the spirits of cops mourning the recent death of a San Antonio police officer.

Paige Vazquez, 8, can bee seen in the picture, which was posted to Facebook last week, standing with her head bowed in front of a table filled with cops. According to a description accompanying the post, the little girl walked up to the table at a restaurant and asked, “May I pray for you to be safe and so that God may take care of y’all?”
And the cops immediately obliged. “I must say that every one of them bowed their head when they got done eating one officer walked over to our table to say thank you,” the photo description read.
Paige later told Inside Edition that she decided to pray for members of the San Antonio Police Department after she spotted them at a local restaurant, adding that invoking God on behalf of others is something she does frequently.
“I always pray for people … and police officers, because I know they have a rough time sometimes,” she said. “And sometimes a little prayer can make someone’s day, so I decided to do that just in case they’re having a rough day.”
Paige said that the officers seemed surprised and uplifted when she approached them and asked if she could pray with them. She also offered up a piece of prayerful advice for others.
“You should always pray for someone, no matter what,” she said. “Don’t be afraid to talk about Jesus, because it might just brighten someone’s day.”

It appears the kind gesture did brighten the officers’ day, as the photo was shared on the San Antonio Police Department’s official Facebook page on July 7 with a message that read, “A wonderful moment to lift our spirits on the hardest of days.”
That “hardest of days” message was a reference to the fact that fallen San Antonio officer Michael Moreno was buried on Friday. Moreno, 32, was tragically killed in the line of duty after being shot on June 29.
