A video featuring a little boy who has Down syndrome belting out Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” in the back seat of a car has swept the Internet over the past week, amassing more than 22 million views since it was first posted on July 25.
And if you spend just a few seconds watching the clip, which features 9-year-old Dane Miller’s passionate singing, you’ll understand exactly why it’s resonating.
Jeanne Miller, the boy’s aunt who posted the video to Facebook, recently gave ABC News the background on the impromptu performance — and of the little boy behind it.
“He is just very vibrant. He’s very high-functioning so if he hears music, it’s just something that sticks with him,” she said. “He’s very proud [of the video]. He just smiles and giggles.”

Dane’s mom, Danna Miller, also spoke out, saying she’s been surprised by the stunning reaction to the clip. Additionally, she shared some amazing words about the incredibly positive impact Dane has had on the family.
“When we had Dane, we didn’t know that he had Down syndrome, but it wouldn’t have mattered,” she told ABC News. “He has been probably the biggest blessing of our lives. He is just so loving and joyful. He is what’s good about this world.”
The Miller family has launched a YouTube account called “Amazing Dane” where additional videos of this cute kid are being shared.
