Kaya Jones, a former member of the hit girl group Pussycat Dolls, recently spoke out against abortion, saying in an interview with MRC Culture that Hollywood’s embrace of the procedure shows “how evil our world has become.”
It’s a stance that Jones publicly took in a tweet back in August as well when she wrote, “Hollywood elites push eating disorders, sex, drugs, & abortion on young women in the entertainment industry.”

Jones, 33, expanded upon these views in her MRC Culture interview, taking aim at Planned Parenthood and sharing her own experiences working in the entertainment industry. It was her abortion stance, though, that will surely get the most attention.
“[Hollywood elites] have a problem with, you know, capital punishment. They have a problem with the death penalty,” she said. “But a baby, or a life that is so pure, doesn’t have any meaning?”
Jones continued, “That should say how evil our world has become — that someone who hurts other individuals, kills people or does something that’s completely wrong and just should be abolished in my mind, somehow holds more value than a very pure, innocent life that was just a circumstance, and it wasn’t their choice of this circumstance.”

Jones’ views are certainly rare in Hollywood, but one detail that’s fascinating to note is that Nicole Scherzinger, another former member of the Pussycat Dolls, has also made some staunchly pro-life comments in the past.
Explaining in an interview last year that her mom got pregnant with her at 17, the former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman said her grandparents simply wouldn’t allow her mother to consider ending the pregnancy.
“My mom got pregnant with me when she was 17 and had me when she was 18. She chose,” she said. “Her parents were never going to let her have an abortion. So I came out, so I just want to, you know, encourage everybody to keep your babies.”
