An Oklahoma City church group reportedly discovered the unthinkable on the side of the road on Saturday: a baby strapped inside of a car seat, left alone in the sweltering heat.
Members of the church were on their way home around 4 p.m. on Saturday when they saw the carseat on the side of a busy highway. They immediately stopped their van when they realized that there was a baby kicking his feet inside, KOCO-TV reported.

The baby, who is only a few months old, had no note or explanation attached to him. A social security card, birth certificate and $5,555 in cash were discovered inside the carseat as well, the outlet noted.
Police said that the baby, who appeared well cared for, was likely only in the heat for about 30 minutes or so when the van arrived.
“I couldn’t believe people were that evil,” an unnamed woman who said that her church found the baby explained. “It was 90 degrees outside.”
The child’s mom has been located and the baby has been turned over to child services.
