Louisiana mom Demetris Payne had tried just about everything to get her teenage son to stop getting into trouble. Grounding. Taking away TV. Taking away the phone. But none of it seemed to act as a sufficient deterrent, as the incidents and the trouble just kept coming.

It all culminated when the youngster was suspended from school for three days last week. Mom had had enough – no way was she about to give her son what amounted to a three day vacation. So she came up with a completely different idea – a brilliant idea. She took to a local social media community page and offered up her son’s services. Here’s what her post read:
“My son has been suspended for three days from school for discipline. He will do your lawn service, he will rake your yard, mow if you supply the mower, pick up trash, or wash your car for free. Maximum three hours. If anyone has a rake they would like to donate will be awesome.”
She also added that he’d do the work free of charge. Mom didn’t realize what she just did was about to garner a ton of attention – and neither did her son. When she informed him of the post, he shrugged it off. But it wasn’t long before messages of support – and requests for work – began pouring in.
So, no three day vacation for the youngster. He was going to work. And mom wasn’t satisfied to let him stroll off on his own and potentially get away with doing a mediocre job – nope, she filmed him doing the work to make sure he was on point, and also provided a little commentary to go along with the action.
“He’s mowing is second yard,” she could be heard saying, with a hint of satisfaction in her voice, as the boy pushed a mower across the front yard.
In a later clip, mom could be heard saying, “Working on the backyard now!” again with a certain amount of satisfaction.
It’s been so busy since the posting, she’s had to create a schedule to keep up with all the requests.
“Instead of two yards a day, he is going to be out there until dark doing it.”
Bravo, momma. Bravo!
