Little Maxwell Alexander couldn’t wait to come into the world. In fact, his mother, Jess Hogan, barely made it into the emergency room at Via Christi Health in Manhattan, Kansas, on July 24, 2017, before Maxwell arrived in the hallway.

“We made it just through the doors. I said, ‘Travis, this is it. He’s here. You have to catch him,'” Hogan said in a story submitted to Love What Matters. “And he looked and he realized I was right. I could feel his head crowning with my hand, and he reached in without hesitation.”
She continued, “I pushed one time and my body did the rest. And there he was, right there in the emergency room floor.”
It took just five minutes inside of the hospital for the birth to unfold; Maxwell is Jess’s sixth child and their first boy. A photographer for Little Leapling captured Maxwell’s entire birth on camera, and a video compilation has been assembled that shows it from start to finish.
“It was the most empowering thing ever to look back and not have this fuzzy memory of it all, but to see it on film the way it happened,” the glowing mom said. “It was beautiful and something that I’m going to treasure for the rest of my life.”
Jess described Jeff as a wonderful father and husband and said she couldn’t have done it without him.
