Country star Carrie Underwood posted a selfie on Instagram last Friday after recently revealing the horrific details of a fall down the stairs at her home in November that left her badly injured.
In the post, Underwood, 34, is pictured alongside her husband, Mike Fisher. Fisher has a red cross on his hand and Underwood has a large red cross covering half of her face, Entertainment Tonight reported.
The post is part of the couple’s efforts to combat human trafficking.
“Together, we’re in it to end it!” Underwood wrote in the caption. “Help us shine a light on modern day slavery.”

As Faithwire previously reported, Underwood recently revealed in a message to her fan club that she received between 40 to 50 stitches on her face the night of the November incident and may appear “different” as a result.
“I haven’t been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up,” Underwood wrote. “It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life.”
It’s unclear what Underwood meant when she said that the accident left her “not quite looking the same,” but she said she’s grateful that it wasn’t worse — and she is determined to have a good year.
Entertainment Tonight reported that some fans were more than encouraging on the singer’s latest selfie post, proclaiming that she is beautiful and that she will remain “gorgeous” regardless of whether she has any lasting scars.
