A dad is receiving both enthusiastic praise and harsh critique after he punished his son for bullying other kids on the school bus.
Bryan Thornhill reacted to his kid’s bullying by telling the 10-year-old boy to run to school after the student was kicked off the bus for his behavior. Then, Thornhill recorded video of his son running in the rain as he trailed behind him in his car and explained his reasoning for the specific punishment, the Daily Mail reported.
“Hey everyone, welcome to you better listen to your dad 2018,” Thornhill said in the clip. “My son has finally got in trouble on the bus enough to where he was kicked off the bus for three days because he was being a little bully which I do not tolerate, can’t stand.”
He continued, “Therefore, he has to now run to school, we’re right about one mile from the school so all week he’s got the experience of running.”

Thornhill said in the video that he wanted to share it to show his discipline inaction and to also give a good laugh. But he also said it is “old-school, simple parenting” and a “healthy way for a child to be punished.”
He added that his son’s behavior changed as a result of the punishment, noting that the boy was better both at home and at school.
A dad found out his son was bullying kids on the bus. After his son was kicked off the bus, he made the 10-year-old run to school each day (about one mile). Was this the right parenting move?

“Teach your kids, most importantly: don’t be a friend, be a parent,” he said. “That’s what children need these days.”
Reactions to the video have been pretty swift, with many people praising Thornhill as a good dad and others claiming that he, too, is a bully. Check out just some of those reactions below:
“You are a piece of s**t,” one critic wrote, adding that “there are other ways to control your child.” Others, though, said “Great job” and added that they hope the boy learns a valuable lesson.
It seems Thornhill anticipated some blowback, as he delivered some advice for those who would be offended.
“If a kid jogging offends you, then get your a** off the couch,” he said in the video. “You probably need a lap or two.”
