Pop star Justin Bieber has become increasingly vocal about his Christian faith in recent years, and this Easter, he wanted to set something straight: Easter is about one thing only, and that’s Jesus Christ.
In an Easter Instagram post, the singer declared that “Jesus has changed my life.”

“Easter is not about a bunny, its a reminder that my Jesus died on the cross for my sins and then rose from the dead defeating death!” he wrote. “I believe this happened and it changes everything! I am set free from bondage and shame.”

Bieber has started attending Church on a regular basis and has formed a close bond with several high-profile pastors such as Hillsong NYC’s Carl Lentz and LA-based “Zoe Church” leader Chad Veach.
“I am a child of the Most High God and he loves me exactly where I am, how I am, for who I am,” the post concludes.
Bieber posts regularly about his faith on Instagram. At the end of last year, he auctioned one of his paintings, which was entitled “Calvary” and depicted the cross of Christ, to provide relief to victims of the California wildfires.

Another one of his posts encouraged fans to look to God for help in times of trouble:
“Do you feel you have [exhausted] all options? Do you feel helpless? Do you feel like you’re never good enough? What if I told you that there’s a God that’s willing to meet you wherever you’re at? What if I told you he could take away your pain, shame, [guilt] and fears.”
Last spring, Bieber performed at a concert following the terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England. During the emotional performance, Bieber encouraged mourners to look to God in their time of trial.
“I’m not going to let go of hope. I’m not going to let go of love. I’m not going to let go of God. Put your hand up if you’re not going to let go,” he said. “God is good in the midst of the darkness. God is good in the midst of the evil. God is in the midst, no matter what’s happening in the world, God is in the midst and he loves you and he’s here for you.”
