Vice President Mike Pence takes no issue with a new book that labels him the United States’ “most successful Christian supremacist.”
Biographer Michael D’Antonio, author of the new book, “The Shadow President: The Truth About Mike Pence,” wrote that Pence feels God “calling him” to “function as a president-in-waiting.”

“With his oath of office, Vice President Mike Pence became … the most successful Christian supremacist in American history,” the book notes.
Pence, in an interview with CBN News, responded to D’Antonio’s book by referencing a passage from James 1.
“The Bible says, ‘Count it all joy when you endure trials of many kinds,’” the vice president told the news outlet. “Any time I’m criticized for my belief in Jesus Christ, I just breathe a prayer of praise.”

Despite facing intense criticism for his Christian beliefs, Pence said the U.S. remains a “nation of faith,” adding, “We’ll respect the beliefs and convictions of every American, but I’m just very confident that, as we go forward and serve alongside this president, that there are an awful lot of people across this country that share our faith and appreciate where we stand.”
As for D’Antonio, he argued Pence is prepared to become president, even if it’s the result of President Donald Trump’s ouster prior to the end of his first term in the White House. The biographer said Pence is trying to position himself as the “normal guy” in the administration.
