Anything is possible with the power of prayers, says a 60-year-old Indiana woman who just became a mother for the first time when she gave birth to healthy twin boys.
When she met her husband 10 years ago at church, doctors told Evansville resident Claudette Cook that she’d never be able to bear children, due to her age. But she began in vitro fertilization last year anyway, after getting the nod from a specialist.
In a modern-day story of Abraham and Sarah, who the Bible says were promised by God that they would be parents one day despite their old age, Cook gave birth via C-section to Isaac and Isaiah on Sunday, one month before her due date.
Like Abraham and Sarah, Cook credits God for helping her to beat the odds. She knew she was healthy and in good enough shape to give birth, and she told God in prayer that she could “do this,” she said.
“Age is not a number with God,” Cook told KTRK. “No matter how hard it was, He brought me through it all.”
Cook said when her boys entered the world she “cried.” Her life changed for the better the moment the fraternal twins were born, she said.
