A Georgia police officer has been named as godfather of a 2-month-old girl after he saved her from choking to death.
Two weeks ago, veteran officer Kenneth Knox was dispatched to the home of the choking child, who wasn’t breathing and had turned blue by the time he arrived, he wrote on Facebook.
The child’s parents had already attempted CPR with no luck, so Knox tried reverse CPR and sucked the cereal out of her throat. The baby then started to breathe.
“The Lord God Almighty touched me and I knew what to do,” Knox said.
Once the cereal was out, the baby smiled at the Knox before beginning to cry. Knox called her wails “music” to his ears.
“Out of my 25 years [of] being a cop this is my greatest and most profound accomplishment,” Knox wrote. “I am forever humbled and changed by this.”
Knox called the baby a “beautiful little princess’ who “will forever be a part” of his life.
Knox’s Facebook post quickly went viral and has been shared more than 60,000 times.
