When the mother of a two-month old baby recently sent a quick Snapchat video of her infant to one of her friends, she said she never expected the baby would end up uttering a “hello” — but that’s exactly what happened.
And now, just three days later, little Christian Jones is a social media star, with the clip of him seemingly mimicking his mom’s “hello” going viral, amassing more than 150,000 views since it was first posted to Facebook on Oct. 24.
His mother, Samantha Jones, told MLive.com she expected Christian to give “maybe a smile or a laugh” when she started recording him for one of her friends, but the results were obviously much more shocking.
Jones is heard in the brief 10-second clip telling the baby to “say hello” and then repeatedly saying the word “hello” to him. Then, all of the sudden, Christian’s lips move as he seemingly responds with a “hello” of his own.
“I gasped,” Jones said of her reaction to hearing the word. “I really couldn’t believe it.”

Others shared similar reactions on Facebook. “I’m crying right now, this is so cute,” one commenter wrote. Numerous others added “wow” among other surprised reactions, with some parents joking that they want to see their own young babies step up to the plate and start making similar utterances.
“That was amazing,” yet another commenter said.
In addition to being viewed more than 150,000 times, the video has amassed thousands of shares and hundreds of likes since Jones posted it. It’s a dynamic that has her pretty surprised, as she told MLive.com, “I don’t think I’ve ever even had 100 likes.”
Jones said this was the first time Christian said anything remotely similar to a word.
