Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election early Wednesday morning, crossing the 270 electoral vote threshold needed to secure the White House.
Trump, who will be the nation’s 45th president, topped Democratic contender Hillary Clinton in the heated electoral showdown, taking key states like Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida.
“The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer,” Trump said at a victory rally around 3 a.m. E.T. “Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division. It is time for us to come together as one united people. It’s time.”
