Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton takes the stage on Wednesday morning to address the American people as well as the global community with a path forward, by focusing on uniting the people of the United States, a sentiment that echoes Presidential elect and real estate mogul, Donald J. Trump, who called on all Americans to come together at this moment.
Clinton stated in a jovial tone with misty eyes in purple, while standing next to her husband, former President Bill Clinton also wearing the color, that, “last night I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of the country.”
After coming out to a standing ovation and cheers with her family, she apologized saying, “I’m sorry we did not win.”

Adding in during the first few minutes of her statement, “this is not the outcome hoped for.”
And, “I feel pride and gratitude for this campaign we built today…you represent the best of America.”
During the moment, Clinton admitted the disappointment that she felt along with thousands of other voters that worked alongside her as well as followed the campaign and her political career to a crowd that had waited nearly a hour to hear and see the democratic nominee.

Other points from her statement included the words, “I want you to remember this, this campaign was about the country we love and building an America that is hopeful and inclusive.”
After citing the deep divide in the United States, mid speech she added, “Donald Trump is going to be our president and we owe him an open mind and a chance to lead.”
Also explaining, “we must accept this and look to the future.” After admitting that this loss is painful, specifically stating,”This is painful and will be for a long time.”
“This loss hurts, but please never stop believing that fighting for what’s right is worth it.”
Reassuring the crowd, “it is worth it” after a pause and saying, “to all the woman…nothing has made me prouder than to be your champion.”
Finally, Clinton offered up appreciation and her faithful based principles.
“I’m so grateful for this country and all that it has given to me, I count my blessings everyday.”
The former Secretary of State delivered her concession speech after democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine and his wife, judge, Anne Holton, spoke at the podium on Wednesday providing thanks and calling her a “great history maker” and citing the old Testament of the Bible and new members of her staff coming at the last hour to the “vineyard” and talking about the love Hillary has for this country.
At 11:45 am local time, Clinton spoke at the Wyndham New Yorker hotel to a packed room of supporters and media outlets, one that media reports have called a “subdued good-bye.”
This broadcast comes 24 hours after election day and behind a congratulatory and private phone call placed to President Trump on his victory.

Clinton has attempted to secure the presidential ticket in the past, including a run against President Obama in 2008 during the Democratic primaries.
Hillary’s speech is hopefully a reassurance to the international community as well as Americans who fall on the opposite political aisle as President Trump, that America can move forward in a positive direction, an action called on by the Republican presidential elect in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

It's been a long election season. I hope that we'll treat each other today the way that we'd like to be treated ourselves.
