The two-year-old son of fallen St. Louis police officer Blake Snyder has been asking about his papa almost every moment since he was fatally shot in October.
In response to the ongoing questioning, the wife of the officer, Elizabeth Snyder said, “He’s been asking for his daddy a lot which is hard.”
In a Thanksgiving post, the widow took to social media to say she is grateful for her son and now deceased husband.
“I don’t know how to respond to him yet. Every time I look at him, I’m also reminded of my husband not coming home,” the mother of the toddler told CNN affiliate KTVI.
But, on the upside to all of this, a family friend has blessed them with two teddy bears dressed in Snyder’s uniform, a memento that has given the boy something of his father’s to clutch on to.
In a Facebook post, the mother of little Blake said,”These beautiful bears were made for us from Blake’s uniforms❤️.”
The two separate bears that were created in honor of the officer have some loving words sewn on the feet of each, to keep his memory alive and that is “love you always” and “always with you.”
The 33-year-old was fatally shot on Oct. 6 while responding to a disturbance call in the area.
