The director of the Australian Christian Lobby, Lyle Shelton, tweeted some disturbing images a short while ago showing a decimated van that had just rammed his office and then exploded.
A vehicle has rammed our office in Canberra & exploded. All staff are safe. I do not know the condition of the driver. Prayers appreciated. pic.twitter.com/R1cKOIfMTC

Shelton asked for prayers, while also reporting that “all staff are safe” after the explosion.
In a follow up tweet, Shelton referred to the van as a ‘car bomb’ while expressing his shock that this could happen in Australia, in an apparently reference to terrorism.
A closer view of the car bomb driven into the ACL office in Canberra tonight. Shocked that this could happen in Australia. pic.twitter.com/GxJQZLTFQr

Shelton said he was not aware of the condition of the driver. The Sun reported that the van was “packed with gas cylinders” implying the explosion was intentional, not the result of an accident.
