A photographer in Oregon has offered to donate the proceeds from her mini photo shoots to the 1-year-old daughter of a friend who was murdered.
Kate Armand, 24, was shot and killed by her estranged husband on Christmas Day in King City, Oregon, KATU reported. Armand’s husband, James Tylka, was later killed in an encounter with police after shooting and critically injuring a police trooper who was attempting to pull him over, leaving the couple’s young daughter, Brynn, as an orphan.
Area photographer and Armand’s best friend, Nic White, has offered to donate all of the proceeds from her mini photo shoots to Brynn and her aunt, White wrote on her Facebook page on Tuesday.
“If you are from the Portland area, you may have heard about the mother who was ruthlessly killed by her estranged husband on Christmas night,” White wrote. “…She leaves behind the sweetest, almost [1-year-old] little girl…she is going to need years of support from all of us.”
White charges $125 per 20-minute session, which includes 10 digital images, White wrote on Facebook in a post containing photos of both Armand and her daughter. The entire cost of the photo shoot will go Brynn.
White signed the post, “Thank you from the bottom of my aching heart.” The photographer, who specializes in family, maternity and newborn photo sessions, said Wednesday that she was “overwhelmed” by the hundreds of inquiries she’s received.
“I am still trying to process all of the sweet messages, questions and request to purchase a session, she wrote on Wednesday.
