A video showing a generous man tipping a hard working waiter $300 and causing the grateful young man to get emotional is generating a heated debate on whether or not he should’ve filmed the deed.
While most people were simply enjoying someone doing something really nice for another person in need, not long after The LAD Bible published the video complaints began to creep in among the positive comments.
“Would be great if people didn’t need to take a video just to show how kind they are,” said Facebook user Jack Robbie. His comment quickly vaulted to the top comment spot, and ignited a debate.
But was the man really filming to show ‘how kind they are’ or was his motivation simply to spur others to similar acts of kindness? If the motivation of the man filming was to heap praise on himself, then it certainly appears to put a damper on the good deed. But if he was simply doing so in order to encourage more people to do the same, then the net effect is likely positive.
Either way, no one (sans God) can fully know the motivations of this gentlemen’s heart. The internet would be wise to simply leave the judging to someone authorized to judge, and just enjoy the moment.
