You’ve seen them. Those horrible political videos where so-called celebrities force their political activism on you. As soon as you make the mistake of clicking play, you realize what you’re in for, but for some reason…you just keep watching.
“How smug will they be this time,” you wonder?
“I thought they wanted to abolish the Electoral College, why are they now making a video about how it exists to ‘stop Trump,’ emphasizing the reason it even exists?”
They use the same formula time and time again: The sappy music starts and there they are, actors and actresses you forgot existed, looking directly into the camera, as if they are only talking to you. They finish each others sentences — because DRAMA — look unreasonably sad, and want you to know that your voice matters (…if you agree with them, that is. If not, well, you’re the evil person the video is probably about.)
What they don’t seem to realize is, simply put: No one cares.
We have jobs, families, hobbies even. Standing in line for three hours to vote was enough, now Grace from the 2004 NBC “Must See TV Thursday” lineup is telling you to call your elector and STOP Donald Trump? No thanks.
FNC’s Red Eye has a message for these pretentious celebs constantly trying to force their political opinions on the world: Stop it!
