Dr. Mehmet Oz, the popular TV host made famous from appearances on Oprah, has teamed up with DeVon Franklin in the month of February for a TV series they’re calling “Faithful Fridays.”
Faithwire’s Kirsten Haglund recently sat down with the hosts to find out more about how this idea came to light, and how you can conquer being overwhelmed with stress.
Every Friday in February, “The Dr. Oz Show” has been exploring what it means to have faith and tackling some of the biggest questions many of us face in our lives. For example, one recent episode featured Kathy Lee Gifford as a guest.
Gifford said not only is Faithful Fridays a “great” idea, but also a necessary one.
She explained how faith can help heal grief the way medicine can’t. Gifford also talked about getting through some of her toughest life moments, specifically the passing of her husband, Frank Gifford; she said God designed us in three key parts: body, soul and mind.
“We spend so much time on our minds and bodies and we wonder why we’re still not happy. It’s because we’re only taking care of two thirds.”
Gifford went on to say, “If faith doesn’t play a role in every moment of your life it’s not much of a faith.”
It’s pretty rare to see a mainstream show, like this one, take a deep look at how living faithfully can impact your life for the better, so this is a welcome addition to the channel guide, for sure.
