A Colorado third-grader got the best Valentine’s Day gift he could imagine when his deployed father surprised him at his school.
On Tuesday, Colorado National Guard Army Sgt. Rex Beach returned from a six-month deployment in Bahrain, and one of the first things he did was march into Ryan Elementary School in Westminster to see his son, Bryce, KMGH reported.

The whole school participated in the surprise – feigning an assembly for Jump Rope for Heart, they gathered to witness their classmate reunite with his father.
In the video, a school faculty member gives Bryce an award for Jump Rope for Heart as his peers look on.
“Is it cool?” she asks him of the award. “I bet it’s not as cool as this. Turn around.”
Bryce turns around as gasps as he sees his father kneeling behind him, already braced for his son to jump into his arms.
