A woman who overheard a man’s struggle at the airport did what she could to ease his concerns by paying $749 for a flight for home and his daughter.
The man was checking into a flight with his young daughter when the airline agent asked how old she was, according to Love What Matters.
When he informed the agent that she had recently turned 2, the agent then asked him if he had a reservation for his daughter.
The man was confused, since his daughter was 1 when he booked the flight, he was under the impression that she could sit on his lap for the trip, the witness said.
He then became emotional and explained that he could not afford to rebook the flight or pay for a ticket for his daughter on such short notice.
“Hugging his daughter and grabbing his head, you could tell he was heartbroken,” the witness wrote.
As he stepped to the side to make some calls, a woman who had been standing at the counter next to him approached him and asked what was wrong. The pair then walked back up to the airline agent together.
The woman pointed to the man’s daughter and said to the agent, “I wanna buy her ticket.”
When the agent confirmed the price, the woman said, “That’s fine.”
The man kept hugging the woman and asking for her name, the witness said, adding that even the agent got goosebumps from the good dee.
The witness told the woman, “God bless you!”
When the man asked for the woman’s name so he could repay her, she responded, “Don’t worry about it.”
What that woman did shows just how powerful a simple good deed can be.
