According to federal statistics, reported by AP, “more than 200,000 Maine residents deal with food insecurity, which means they have poor access to adequate nutritious food.”
Out of the sixteen counties, that means about fifteen percent of homes across the state don’t have enough food to put on their tables. Hillandale commented that, the large donation will allow families to have access to protein foods in their facility.
