It’s incredible how one interaction can literally change the course of a life.
Last month, two New Jersey teens went viral after getting into a street fight. The video only went viral because of the man who broke up the fight, Ibn Ali Miller. He fearlessly interjected himself into the fray and his epic lecture stopped the fight instantly and inspired everyone who watched it, including Lebron James and other celebrities who gave him props.
So, what’s become of the two boys? They (along with Ali) appeared on the Steve Harvey show to talk about how their lives have changed since the video went viral in March.

26-year-old Ali had only run out of his home to do something quick for his mother when he spotted two young teens fighting in the middle of the street. Instead of just walking by it, he stepped in and delivered a viral-worthy lesson.
In the interview with the trio, Steve Harvey asked both young men, how did this change your life?
The first young man to speak on the show said, “it changed my life because, if it wasn’t for Mr. Ali … I wouldn’t be where I’m at now.”
The teen, obviously emotionally shaken up by expressing his gratitude, tries to continue but Mr. Ali steps in and gives him a handshake and the crowd erupts in applause before he can do so. Once the loud applause dies down, the other young man, 15-year-old Jamar Mobly, starts to express his gratitude for what Mr. Ali did and how his decision to step in and talk to them helped changed his life.
He explained that what Mr. Ali said and did resonated with him because “he comes from where I come from” and “he still wanted to help me.” Mobly continued by saying he wants to go to college because its all part of a cycle. Now his little brother can look at him as a role model with dreams, because “what I do he’s going to do” and “what he does, his kids are going to do.” So Mr. Ali helped put him on a positive path.
Another proof positive that one person can indeed make a difference. His decision to spend 5 minutes of his life speaking to a angry group of teenagers has made a positive, lasting impact on not only 2 young lives, but the millions of people who saw the interaction online.
