It’s happened 17 times since the mid-1970’s, and federal agencies are once again preparing for the possibility of a government shutdown if Democrats and Republicans can’t make a deal before temporary funding comes to an end on April 29th.
April 29th also happens to be President Trump’s 100th day in office, which means he’s likely looking for a big win or two before the deadline hits. The White House has instructed various governmental agencies to prepare for the event of a possible shutdown, but assured that it’s merely procedural and not a harbinger of things to come.
The main sticking points include Trump’s possible inclusion of funding for the border wall, as well as the battle over funding for Obamacare.
What is the likelihood of a shutdown taking place, and what are the possible ramifications? Faithwire’s Managing Editor Dan Andros was on Cheddar TV earlier this morning to provide an appraisal of the current situation.
The segment also covered the latest with Fox News in the wake of the Bill O’Reilly’s exit from the network.
