Comedian Kathy Griffin cried during a press conference on Friday as she addressed the recent controversy surrounding a photo of her holding a faux severed head that resembled President Donald Trump.

“I don’t think I will have a career after this,” Griffin said, decrying a “mob mentality pile-on” that she said has unfolded since the image went viral. From death threats to scrutiny, she said the reaction has been harsh.
Griffin — who called Trump a “fool” during the press briefing — said that the controversy has broken her and added that her video apology amid the outrage was authentic.
“There’s a bunch of old, white guys trying to silence me,” she added. And I’m just here to say that’s wrong. You don’t have to like me, but you shouldn’t silence a comic.”
