An incredible video is surfacing that shows a Connecticut woman performing a stunning act of courage for a complete and total stranger.
In what can only be described as a miracle, both the woman and the boy survived this horrific incident.
In the surveillance video, a woman can be seen walking in in front of a restaurant with two young boys following close behind.
They obviously hear something not right and in an instant a car comes speeding into the frame and narrowly misses the first boy, but rams the second boy directly into the wall.
Watching the replay, however, it becomes apparent that another woman could see what was coming, and took courageous action. She attempted to push the boy out of the way, and just as she was doing so the car slams into both of them, pinning them against the wall.
They both survived the attack, with the woman taking the brunt of the collision.
Bystanders then descend onto the scene to help the injured woman, who has been identified as Shanta Jordan.
The Chief of Police for Bridgeport said Shanta likely saved the boy’s life. From the Daily Mail:
Police chief A. J Perez ‘truly believes’ the child – who was walking mere yards away from another woman and a child – would have died had the heroic woman not taken the impact of the car.
‘I want to say thank you to this good person,’ Perez said. ‘If it wasn’t’ because she stepped in, I truly believe it would have been a fatality.’
You never know what you will do in a life threatening situation until it happens, at least one boy is grateful today that Shanta Jordan was one of those who would risk their own life for someone else.
The driver was charged with reckless driving.
