People often lament God being forgotten in popular culture circles, so it’s important to shine a light when He is given the credit publicly.
At the 2017 CMT Awards held earlier this week, country superstar Carrie Underwood won big, taking home two new trophies and also made history by becoming the most awarded artist in CMT history with her 17th win.

When Underwood went on stage to accept an award for Female Video of the Year for her song Church Bells, she thanked a slew of people and her fans. But most importantly, she thanked God for all of his blessings. Then the artist went on to give a shout-out to her husband, hockey player, Mike Fisher and his team the Nashville Predators.
Underwood said, “Thank you God for so many incredible blessings” and then said, “Me and my husband… there’s a lot going on in our lives. We are so thankful and so blessed. Go Preds!”

Underwood and her duet partner Keith Urban also took home the Collaborative Video of the Year award for the “disco-flavored” hit The Fighter, ABC reported.
During the acceptance speech for the song, both thanked fans for supporting them and making their song such a huge success.
